Cycle the Seasons

Winter is surprisingly colourful with fragrant almond blossoms and an array of wild flowers. Purple cyclamen peek from under rocks, the reddest crown anemones brighten the natural oak and Terebinth forest floors, and winter figs begin to ripen.

Spring is warm and lush from ‘late rains’ creating sweet blossoming fruit trees, tall green wheat, purple jacarandas and Judas trees, and a landscape dotted with poppies, irises, thistles and even lupines.

Summer is hot so we prefer to ride in the dew-filled early mornings or the warm natural light of late afternoons, winding between grape-filled vineyards, fruit-laden pomegranate trees, fresh carob pods, and ripe purple figs –stopping to taste, of course!

Fall rides enjoy bright sun and cooler temperatures. We travel under the shade of ripening olives, and meet the harbingers of Autumn, such as squills, narcissus, and crocuses.
